Grassroots
The guiding principle of Grassroots soccer is that players of all ages and abilities should have the opportunity to enjoy the game of soccer and grow as participants and people. Through Long Term Player Development (LTPD) players will be able to learn and compete at appropriate levels throughout their lives.
Grassroots Soccer at the Markham Soccer Club is from the ages of U7-U12. The Markham Soccer Club is also a member of the National Youth Club License, which follows a year round curriculum set out by technical staff. Sessions plans focus on a balanced emphasis in each of the Four Corners of Development - technical, physical, social, and psychological.
Players are introduced to the fundamentals of the game that matches the individual's current age and stage of development.
You do not have to be a previous player with the Markham Soccer Club to come out for the grassroots program.

Soccer for Life
The Markham Soccer Club Competitive program is designed for players with exceptional soccer skills who can represent the Club in various competitive leagues. These leagues consist of Club teams from different districts and therefore more traveling is required than in the house league program. The Markham Soccer Club offers Competitive teams from U13 to U18 That Competitive at both the Regional (Imodel) and District level (YRSL)

Commitment
Competitive teams generally practice 2-3 times a week plus a game. The amount of travel depends on the age division and level the team plays at. Competitive teams operate year-round programming with training and/or league play during the winter as well. Most competitive teams also plan to attend various tournaments throughout the season which may require outside of the province traveling.
Leagues
The U13 to U18 Markham Competitive Teams compete in the Regional Level of play (Imodel) as well as the District level of play (YRSL)
Cost
The registration fee for the competitive teams is significantly greater than registration for the house league program. This is due to the higher cost of registration, league fees, uniforms, training, fields and referees for competitive teams. The Year-round fee (Both outdoor and indoor is $3,495.00
